Bassline Members is the Munich-based project of Beanfield-member Jan Krause and Germany’s most respected DJ and producer DJ Linus. Jan Krause, ex-apprentice of Jürgen Koppers (Godfather with Giorgio Moroder, both responsible of the Munich Disco Sound, and producer of e.g. Donna Summer). Jan Krause is a trained sound-engineer, producer and doubles as bass-player of the world’s most famous rare-groove band Poets Of Rhythm. DJ Linus is one of the only German House-DJ who ever dj-ed at the Ministry Of Sounds and Cream.
Well known to many through his smasher „Bar-B-Q“ (12inch of the month in Muzik), he is also a regular on playlists from Tony, Gusto, Armand Van Helden, Roger S., Kevin Saunderson, Hector Romero, Release The Pressure/Groove, Blues & Soul, DJ-Magazine Hype Charts, Ricky Morrison, Danny Ross and in a lot of charts from other well known DJ- or house-stores.
Their style is a rare fusion of DJ Linus’ dub, deep- and garage-house, disco and nu-school combined with the more individualistic mix of sublime noise fragments woven into complex webs of global beats Beanfield is so well-known for. That combination makes up a highly explosive mixture of funky electro-house and off beat house style. Jan Krause plays bass and DJ Linus is contributing his typical disco-flavoured beats.
Together they create a unique set of musical images perfectly capturing the collaborate style of both artists. Bassline Members is simply another compatible fusion of congenial Compost/Compose-act that works out just perfectly.
