Cozy Cornerz are Pauly Papa from New York and Marcel Krieg (Future Funk) from Munich. Pauly grew up in Manhattan’s lower east side and was music wise basically influenced by his father „one of those Disco-Ducks from the 70ies“ as Pauly says. In his early teens he got into breaking and he started to buy loads of hip hop records.
Like many other famous American house DJs who have their roots in New Yorks hip hop scene, he soon got into house music, bought his first technics and started DJing. He’s been a resident at Nells, Roxy, Demarra, Shelter Or Vinyl, Nasa and Plush and he has also been booked for DJ gigs all over Germany (E-Werk Berlin, Parkcafe Munich, Millenium Munich, Mach 1 Nürnberg and Bellycloud Nürnberg).
At one of these gigs he met Marcel Krieg who is a member of Future Funk. Marcel is an experienced DJ and producer. Together with his Future Funk partner Jerome Isma-ae he has released several 12“inches on labels like Flavour, Strictly Rhythm, Compose, Delirium USA, Hey Babe Rec.,Toasted. Future Funk’s album was shortly released on Sony. Marcel has also released a solo 12“inch on compose Records called „The Disco Drive EP“ which was quite successful. It made it to notch 23 of the German Dance Charts.
Cozy Cornerz’ „Around The Corner, Jammy“ is a straight off, easy going house tune that will definitely leave you in a good mood after hearing it and „Cozy-Tricity“ or „Affexy Cornerz“ wont change that either. So go ahead and let the good times roll.
